The Technology Office is charged with the management of the technology resources of the Ozark City Schools. This management responsibility includes the establishment and administration of acceptable use policy and implementation guides for the use of these resources by staff, students, and other users.
Ozark City Schools is a small rural school district of approximately 3,000 students. Instructional services are provided in five schools, and an area career center. The school system's student population is diverse due in large measure to the influence of Ft. Rucker, an adjacent Army installation.
The infusion and implementation of the technology in the schools is viewed as a tool to enhance the educational process and not as an end unto itself. Therefore, the system technology plan is sensitive to the instructional needs inherit in the total school program, including career/technical and special education.
